These two research buildings were planned, designed and constructed for the University of Miami Medical School on a fast-track method. The facilities include 6,500 square feet of research laboratories on each floor, research offices, seminar rooms, and support spaces and utilities. The R. Bunn Gautier building houses the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 75,000 sf and was completed in 1991 at a construction cost of $10.3 million. The Papanicolau Research Tower was completed in 1989 at a construction cost of $5 million.
